And so today, Fall begins. This is my favorite time of year! I love the cooler mornings and nights, after the awful summer heat. I love being able to sit out on the patio, drink my coffee, and play with my dogs. I love the cool, crisp breezes, after the blast furnace winds.
I love the colors of Fall: beautiful browns, oranges and golds.
I love the flavors of Fall: warm spices, comfort food, and everything pumpkin!
I love hoody weather! I’m not a sweater girl. Never have been, really. But I like hoodies, cardigans, fleece and soft, cozy materials.
I love snuggling under a blanket with my Zeus, his soft, warm black fur against my skin. He’s a little heat machine!🐾❤
I love yoga in front of my fireplace. I love being able to do outside yoga again, and I’m looking forward to yoga near my fire pit outside!
I love the sounds of Fall: the crickets, the breeze in the trees, the humming of machinery in the distance as my farmers harvest fall crops or plant wheat, the crackling sound of the fireplace, football on the tv in the background.
I love the smells of Fall! Give me AAAALLLL the pumpkin and apple and spice scents! Candles and wax melts are going all over my home!
If you’ve been part of my community for a bit, you probably already know that I’m a big believer in affirmations. I sent these Fall Affirmations out to my email list yesterday and decided to share them here.
Affirmations can be very powerful when used consistently. I encourage you to start with these, tweak them to fit you personally, then look for more that you can incorporate into your daily life. (If you’d like a set of 12 affirmation wallpapers for your phone, check these out.)
I heard something that sparked my interest today. For many people, Fall signifies the shorter days and longer periods of darkness that are coming. And that’s something that many people dread. It can cause depression and sadness. So right now is a good time to start preparing yourself for this. Now is the time to stockpile for your mental health. Don’t dread what you already know is coming. Set yourself up to nourish yourself through it…maybe you can lessen the effect of it. Maybe start with the affirmations above.
“The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let things go.”
This quote…I just love it! For some reason, it is really speaking to me this year. Maybe it’s because my word of the year is “Release”. Maybe that’s helping me see things from a new perspective. Let things go, Release…yes, there are a few things on that list for me this Fall.
Hey, if you LOVE all the pumpkin flavors and coffee…come take a look at all the yummy pumpkin coffees that Java Momma has to offer! Pumpkin Spice Latte is my personal fave right now!
